Over a decade ago I worked a personal trainer. While much of it was rewarding, it was discouraging that some of my hardest working clients were not seeing results equivalent to their effort in the gym. Oh and by the way...I fell into this category too!
How embarrassing right? Not only was I working out all the time and not really looking like it, I also had irregular digestion, horrible afternoon energy slumps, and was generally anxious and short tempered even though that is not my normal personality (I promise!)
Eventually it became clear to me that exercise was only part of the equation. I went back to school to get my Master’s in Applied Clinical Nutrition to better serve my clients as well as solve my own health concerns. Learning about the power of nutrition was life changing and so empowering! But turns out just like the perfect workout plan couldn’t solve all your problems, neither can the perfect meal plan...
Let’s be honest, lack of information is usually not the problem when we are trying to make a change in our health.
In fact there is so much information out there that it can be paralyzing. However, the information that IS usually missing in a health plan is details about YOU.
What are your values and strengths? What is your motivation for change?
What pitfalls are in your blind spots?
What or who will support you?
These are all important components of what to think through to make a plan with steady, sustainable steps to move you where you want to go. Some of them will work and some won’t. But both outcomes give useful information on the way forward! At the end of the day health isn’t one size fits all which means you can define and -create- what it looks like for you.
I’m here to both support and challenge you on YOUR unique journey. Are you ready? Let's go!
• I am a proud US Army combat veteran and a current military spouse. It is my honor to support the military community- contact me for a special military discount!
• I grew up on a farm in rural Nebraska. Unfortunately I didn't really inherit the family green thumb. .. half of my plants are fake.
• I prefer vegetables over fruit and my two favorites are radishes and golden beets.
I became a Health Coach because I am passionate about helping you feel better, enjoy life more, and ultimately be the version of yourself that you want to be.
I specifically chose to become a Functional Health Coach because I believe the best way way to health is finding root cause of problems rather than just treating symptoms.
At the end of the day, self care is health care. We only get one shot at this life and I can't think of a more important thing to focus on than feeling the best we can in it.
